After a 6 week whirlwind romance the unlikely pairing of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon became official.

Beyoncé and Jay Z made it official.

August

Jamaica's great achievement at the Beijing 2008 Olympics breaking 3 world records with the star of the show being Usain Bolt.

Bernie Mac [my all time favourite comedian] and Isaac Hayes passing a day after one another on August 9th and 10th. RIP

October

OJ was finally found guilty of something.

Jennifer Hudson lost her mother, brother and nephew so tragically in October. RIP

November

Miriam Makeba passed away. RIP

Usher and Tameka Raymond welcomed their second son together. [This is Tameka's fifth child and she looks damn good for it too]
