My Take On The Whole John Mayer Thing!
“Oh no one less man out on the planet finds us desirable. What if he is an example of the minds of many? It’s hard enough for me to find a decent and good black man already to the point where I was thinking about going over to the other side, and now John Mayer says this? I’m doomed!” We’re nice to look at, but that’s as far as it goes? I thought everyone wanted us!”-signed crazy single black woman

X Marks The Spot: Voting Day
I don't need any texts, Facebook messages, Twitter reminders, e-mails, MySpace bulletins, or leaflets being handed to me outside Angel tube station to remind me to vote today thank you very much.So the HUGE focus this year is to vote to keep the BNP out?
I'm not voting to keep the BNP out. I'm voting because I have always voted and will continue to do so. BNP. ABC. or EFG. Mi nah business.
I've never in the 11 years since I've been allowed to vote by law [with the exception from my mother] heard another BLACK person stress to me in some way at the importance of voting until this week.
BNP or no BNP we as black people need to stop using negative [in the UK, having the BNP] or positive [in the US, when Obama ran] as a means to turn up in full force to vote for some change. We should be bloody doing it anyway.
I vote. I always do. There could be a whole heap of BNP type parties all trying to win seats, and my 2 feet shuffling to the polls will be no different every time a voting session rolls around.
Unless we are PUSHED somehow whether to get a black president IN or keep the fascist whites OUT it seems it's the only time we decide we're going to fix up.
I'm tired of our PART-TIME mentality. It reminds me of the mentality of some black folks who think being studious and reading is a white thing. There are a lot of people that believe voting is just a white thing so 'can't be bothered'
Voting should be important and pushed ALL the time not just when it's a potentially negative/positive issue surrounding race.
That's all I'm going to say as I'm sleep deprived and wrote some long ass comment reply about Mariah/Beyoncé..yeah go figure.

The N Word
Say it to me if I bump into you accidentally in the street or in an argument and I'll chop you in the throat. The last time I was called a nigger to my face was over five years ago and I kept to my word that if anyone dared call me that I would punch them in the face. It may not be right, but my ancestors took more than a punch to people with that same mentality thinking the very worst of them and then some. I am not in the cotton fields, this is a different time, do not even think about it with me on the bus, tube or street. Violence is never to be justified point blank, but some people just need a good old fashioned ass whooping from time to time. I'm not a little woman but that day I remember a big ass black man had to pull me off the white man left in shock thinking I was going to somehow let that go. I was not and will not.
Go around calling me a Nigger on my blog, anybody else's or calling the next POTUS a nigger in my blog [a comment I swiftly rejected] and I find it laughable, that you have had no stirring up of emotions toward me as an individual prior to spew that bullshit. [A different set of emotions and I'll explain why] If me and another person were going at it in a confrontation that's one thing. You'll get slapped for saying it, not because I was hurt by it. To sit at your place of work/trailer park and just decide for the sake of it to go on blog after blog [three that I know of today] and reel off the N word is ultimately pathetic. That's your sole agenda for the day? Like I said being referred to as a nigger does not have to be about skin colour, therefore it makes that anonymous individual a nigger in my eyes too.
After my Rachel Hylton blog this morning, I knew I'd attract this nonsense, and the beauty about the Internet is you're protected, to talk a whole lot of what you think
is something...about nothing. Granted you could never come to London and stand in the streets of Brixton or Peckham or anywhere for that matter and call a black person that to their face, because for most people it wouldn't even be about talking or an argument and more likely end up in a situation where you'd end up a statistic.I always make it a point in life and online to be about it rather than just speak about it. I am the same way in real life [maybe a little coarser at times] as I am online, and would never say anything online that I wouldn't dare say to anybodys face. I'm bold, blunt and brazen. I don't have time to bullshit people if I don't like you or know you don't like me I'll make it known to stop the pathetic pretence that we do.
Like my online forum and fellow blogger just posted in a comment "it doesn't hurt us" not like they want it to anyway and seriously it's far from original. Sticks n stones….
I don't know of any blacks that venture to white supremacist blogs or sites spewing hate about the BNP, KKK or the Arian brotherhood. In fact a lot [not all] of blacks that I know of or have spoken to don't like/care for white people either with a passion maybe even more than 'they don't like those niggers' types, but they just keep it to themselves and keep it moving. You guys want to form groups and political parties, screaming and crying about your jobs being taken and your women and anything else that you can think of that you can blame Mr Mexico, Mr Africa, or Mr India for.
But tell me this Mr anon proud homosexual, which you admitted to on another blog, aren't you despised by your own people especially those extremists that hate blacks like you do solely because you're gay? Imagine that, you share the same opinions about 'us' yet they never accept YOU because of your sexual orientation.
Be careful where you spew that shit, because it may take a black man like Zeus In Die Hard with A Vengeance to save your sorry ass when you're walking around with a sandwich board or shouting from the rooftops in expressing your hatred for a race of people.
Just Another Nigger
If people stumble upon my blog via other means other than coming here directly from a link, they may do a Google search which lands them here.So I have a nose around and see what searches on Google were drawing people to LondonDiva's Blog.
The most popular has been for BC Jean's 'If I Were A Boy'. Usually on the weekends after X Factor there are more searches by a contestants name like Austin or Ruth. And as this week has seen the release of Souljah Sister's book Midnight: A Gangster Love Story, so there have been a few searches on The Coldest Winter Ever, all things I have blogged about.
But one caught my eye and just had me staring at the screen for longer than I should have. Somebody from Bristol in the UK landed on my blog after typing into Google 'Rachel Hylton another nigger'
It seriously was a WTF moment and just though why? What would somebody expect to pull up by doing a search and adding the N word?
My case in point. Obama is a change, but this historic moment happening is not going to cause THE change that some ingrates think may happen.
From Rachel Hylton who has 5 kids by 5 different men, had 3 of her children taken into care, did time in prison and was drug addict, now turning her life around, became a Christian and is competing on X Factor to the President Elect Barack Obama. From one end of the spectrum to the other no matter where you come from or where you go some people will only see you as nothing more than just another nigger.
That's why you really need to have an I don't give a f*** attitude as a person of colour, please yourself, don't look to please or kiss the white man's behind, do the very best that you can do for yourself first and foremost, because when you have every qualification imaginable under your belt, a great salary, a great position at a firm from my experience they only see B-L-A-C-K or would be quick to use the N word in a confrontation at the supermarket should you decide to get all 'aggressive' another word commonly associated with my people.
What they see and what we know are two VERY different things! Remember that.

My Take: OJ Simpson
This is a response to a post [in case the way it is written seems choppy to the reader]
I was personally going to post about OJ on my own blog, but decided against it as like you everyone has their own view about him, the race issue, and whether he did it or not.I for one am very tired of hearing about giving Mr black celebrity a pass or looking as though he came off harder because he's black compared to whites who have done the same.
First and foremost he committed the wrong crime, 12 counts to be exact in the wrong damn state. No he never shot anybody BUT in the state of Nevada alone, OJ or Mr Joe Bloggs would potentially be getting the same sentence based on the crime and what sentence it carries.
"The fifth and sixth convictions were both for "First-degree Kidnapping with a Deadly Weapon." For the two convictions combined, Simpson will receive a sentence of 30 years or life imprisonment."
PLEASE let's not forget he's not even sentenced till December 5th. It's October 6th and so far it's talk and speculation of what he's going to get. Although obvious considering of what he was found guilty for it's sure to be a long one. I for one will not be losing any sleep over it, because if I know the law at 29 then OJ should know the damn law with his old man self. Why do we as a people always have to take it there and fling in the colour issue? Why is it always an injustice with the sentencing? To me once you decide that you want to lose your place in society and break laws then expect whatever to come. I cannot battle for you in your corner and talk of unfairness of the length of your incarceration compared to your white counterparts. That should be enough for black men to think twice, hell three times more, before committing a crime because their time behind bars is going to be longer based on the colour of their skin. if we were discussing teachers holding our children back then that's a different story that's a true injustice. I can't and won't defend folks who have chosen to go that route in life, then stand up talking about "s*** man it's unfair the brotha got more than the white guy for robbing the store"
[edited to add: NO MUTHA EFFER SHOULD BE ROBBING [THE STORE] IN THE FIRST DAMN PLACE! You think after that we have time as a community for 'woe is me' with regard to the perpetrators within our community on a global scale. We have bigger issues that need fixing, educating our children, the rise in HIV and AIDS in our community, the family unit I could go on...Not enough debate, time or awareness is given to such topics].
OJ was a lucky brotha. Trust me a man guilty before proven innocent of a crime 99.9% of the global population thinks he did, even after running from the police with the world watching, 13 years ago got a pass to start over. NOW HOW MANY BLACK MEN GET THAT OPPORTUNITY??
Plain and simple OJ DUN F*** UP!!
Rather than go in there waving God knows what around and now having hefty lawyer fees as well as life in prison to contend with, he should have gone the legal route in the first place to get back what he claimed was rightfully his.
This time around it's not a race issue. It's a stupid dumb criminal who just so happens to be black that got caught, was found guilty and will be put away for it.
You're right OJ is not a man to be proud of in no way shape or form, if he's not a murderer then he sure was a wife beater and an abuser and now a convicted armed robber. Yes we as a people have suffered and continue to suffer injustices through no fault of our own. OJ created his mess and was an injustice unto himself. There's the difference.
And trust me it's not just white people that have a problem with OJ, plenty of blacks do too and wanted him put away. And you know something I don't blame them (white people) nor can be mad at them because as a people we know how to get mad when the police kill one of our own. And when we get mad we get mad, I'm sure if they were Korean it would be the same thing. Or if OJ was white and Nicole and Ron were black, you telling me we wouldn't be mad about it and delighting in it 13 years later that he gets put away for something? Stephen Lawrence in London, I'm sure you remember. If we could get one of those white boys done for something and put away for life there'd be a ton of people happy that they finally got what they deserved to some extent even if not for the original crime. I can't be mad at them because we act the same damn way a lot of the time, and that would make me a hypocrite.
Obama and OJ are not even a fair trade. And educated black man over a dumb one is like trading diamonds for glass chippings.

Intel apologises for 'racist' computer ad
-Jonathan RichardsThe chip-maker has pulled an advertisement which it acknowledged was 'culturally insensitive and insulting' Intel, the computer chip maker, has been forced to apologise for an advertisement which has been widely criticised as racist.
The ad, which was for a new generation of micro-processors, showed six black sprinters crouched in the start position in front a white man wearing a shirt and chinos in an office. Above the image was a slogan which read: "Multiply computer performance and maximise the power of your employees."
Blogs were quick to spot the connotation of a white master surveying a group of black workers apparently bowed at his feet. In a statement on its website, Intel said: "We made a bad mistake. I know why and how, but that simply doesn't make it better." It was intended that the advertisement "convey the performance capabilities of our processors through a number of visual metaphors," Don MacDonald, director of global marketing for the company, wrote."Unfortunately, this ad using African-American sprinters did not deliver our intended message, and in fact proved to be culturally insensitive and insulting." Gizmodo, the technology blog which spotted the ad, said of the picture: "Lousy, barely subliminal, racist advertising, or just plain lousy advertising?"
The Register, a technology news site, said in its analysis: "While the white man's smug jubilation is apparently derived from choosing the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, there are some pretty sinister undertones in the advertisement."
Intel said it had pulled the ad from hundreds of publications, but was unable to stop two which had already shipped. The California-based company said it had identified "specific steps" in its ad reviewal process, and would rely on these, as well as "just more common sense", to guard against a similar incident in the future.
Intel, which recently reported second quarter revenues of $8.7 billion (£4.3 billion), is relying heavily on a new breed of 'multi-core processors' in the war with its long term rival, AMD.
Somehow I don't think that this big conglomerate will suffer, except from a bit of bad press maybe. But can you really see black people or those from other ethnic minorities refusing to buy anything computer related with the Intel sign on, or throw out their computers in protest? Highly unlikely. In some instances, especially with Intel, we don't really have much of a choice. Due to their stature and position within the global marketplace, and for this reason alone, they knew before this insensitive ad was released probably wouldn't hinder them or their net profit margins in the process.
